GEORGIA ON MY MIND!!!!

I am young Georgian with aspirations to develope Georgia, to build strong and PEACEFULL Georgia and help it to become a part of some “political family” as Nato, EU…. why do you want to join NATO? they ask me often…. If west dared and had given Georgia green sign about NATO we wouldn’t have such situation…. for a small countries with such background is crucialy importan to be a part of some family in order not to allow SOME NEIGHBORS to intervine and invade whenever they wish! And again, it’s not about South Osetia and Abkhazia. Even if we give up these teritories, they won’t stop, cause they need week and unstable Caucasus countries. Who will invest in such region? come on!!!! That’s why Russia is opposing Georgia’s and Ukraine’s aspiration to join NATO….
The decision to open the doors of NATO and the EU to central and eastern Europe in the 1990s was an example of successful crisis prevention. One can only imagine how much worse off the United States and Europe would be today if NATO and the EU had not been enlarged and they now had to worry about instability in the heart of Europe. If U.S. and European leaders again succeed in linking new democracies to NATO and the EU, ten years from now they will look back at a redrawn map of Europe and Eurasia and be thankful that they acted when they did. If they fail, future generations may well pay a high price for their passivity.

    • answer: First of all becoming EU member is a long process, lots of procedures, and if you carefully study EU enlargement topic you will see what steps all memebr states went through. Nobody gave memebrship to East and Central european countries, to baltic countries from the begining, but after several years all they became member states. It’s not about somebody X citizen of Eu saying oh, I dont want Georgia in EU. Georgia isn’t in Eu cause we aren’t ready for this, ok?!!! We have our aims and we do reform!!!! we know that EU memebrship is very far perspective so what we do is just taking advantage of colaborating with Eu, like market preferences, student exchanges, visa procedures and etc…. during last years for Georgia NATO memebrship is more priority than EU, cause here our chanses are rather high!

      Is my answer clear??

  1. Diana, let me add your journal to my friendlist. Here in Ukraine we’re looking forward for any information on what’s going on there in your country.
I also want you to know that here in Kyiv we all support the people of Georgia and wish you a victory and a quick ending of this nightmare.
Could you please let us know what’s the situation there now? Yesterday I’ve heard from other internet guys that russians threw their forces 40km into the Georgian territory, is this true? ‘ve also heard that they have occupied Gori, is it so?
    Thank you!

    • hey, Andriy, thank yous so much for your support and attention!!!! you can’t imagine how important and priceless it is for us!!! thank you!!!
as for information, I will update it, but for now just an hour ago Russians bombed a military base in Tbilisi…. now silence… strange silence… you’re right Gori, Zugdidi, Senaki and mainly west Georgia is occupied by Russian “peacekeepers”. I just watched Russian media and I am shocked!!!!! This fucking Russian Propaganda!!!!! theya re liying to their people like they are nothing, animals… the same they did during beslan and othe tragedies!!! shame on them!!!!!!!!!
thank you once again for being friend!!!

      • About an hour ago Medvedev said that Russian army has finished the “peacekeeping” operation in Georgia. And as we see, they are still occupying Georgian cities… It was obvious decades ago that they can do nothing but lie… Sort of common Russian politic.
But I’m sure that there’s no state that could stand for long, being based on lies. One day we’ll witness the fall of these drunk barbarians, I believe in it with all my heart.
From the very beginning of Russian invasion lots of Ukrainians have sent their letters to Georgian embassy in Kyiv, to show their support.
Not sure if you can read them in Ukrainian, but there are also words in Russian here:
